I have been thinking of upgrading to gouache for a long while; the flicker of the real brush as opposed to the digital is not comparable. And yet I hesitated; pondered and wondered. When I finally went for it, it was a world of difference. Somehow gouache transformed even my view on colours; suddenly I prefer the pastels that walk the edge between timidity and liveliness. And appropriately, so do the subjects.
